Norther is a metal band from Helsinki, Finland. Norther's sound has been said to be similar to that of Children of Bodom, and the band has cited Children of Bodom as being an influence to them. However, they deviate from Children of Bodom in that their songs tend to be more melodic and less technical. The subject in which genre Norther should be placed is often debated. Some people will call Norther's musical style Power Metal with the use of harsher vocals, rather than a melodic death metal band, even though most people agree that they don't share any other similarities with the Power Metal genre than some typical riffs.
